BOMAFA is family-owned for the fourth generation by now. Continuity, reliability and honesty is what defines our company.

1919 Founding

Founding of Bochumer Maschinenfabrikby Mr. Schneider and Mr. Diefenbach, the 27th June 1919. Inthe beginning itwas specialized on producing screws.

1922 Relocation

Relocation of the production facility tothe Hundscheidtsfeld. Specialization on the delivery of spare parts for mining and first repairsof valves.

1924 Mr. Brune

Mr Brune is admitted as a new partner. The company is granted the patent Axt. The process of build-up welding of V2A and V4A steels. The factory is enlarged by 2 halls.

1944-1947 Reconstruction

After being destroyed by bombs during World War II, the office and factory building were rebuilt under Mr. Arthur Schneider. Repair of valves and spare parts of pumps belonged to the product range at that time.

1951 Completion of reconstruction

After the completion of the reconstruction,BOMAFA expanded with new machines.

1953 Integration of Dipl. Ing. Mr. Appelberg

Mr. Friedrich Appelberg joined the company, after co-planning the expansion.

1956 Construction and production of valves

Production startof self constructedvalves. Development of the transformer for steampressure reducing stations.

1963-1964 New production facility in Wattenscheid

Relocation of production and administration to the factory in Wattenscheid.

1965 Dipl.Ing. Friedrich Appelberg

Mr. Arthur Schneider passes away at the age of 75 and Friedrich Appelberg becomes the new general manager. The company name BOMAFA Armaturen is introduced and we are now significantly involved in the development of new valves, especially reducing stations for power plant construction.

1967 Mrs. Emilie Appelberg

Mr. Appelberg dies at the age of 60 years. Mrs. Emilie Appelberg is solely entitled to representthe company. From now on Arthur Appelberg is responsible for the office staff and Ferdinand Appelberg is responsible for the field service.

1984 Konvoi Series

BOMAFA valves were first built into nuclear power plants under the name Konvoi in 1984.

1985 Dipl. Ing. Ferdinand Appelberg

Mrs. Emilie Appelberg recalls as general manager. Ferdinand Appelberg becomes the new general manager and his brother retires from the company on his own request.

1987 Founding of ASFA

asfa- Antriebssysteme is founded by Ferdinand Appelberg. Through this hydraulics company was achieved that BOMAFAArmaturen could be equipped with asfa actuators.

2000 Joining of the 4th generation

Mr. Friedrich Appelberg joinsBOMAFA in October 2000, representing the 4thgeneration of the Appelberg family, with the goal to achieve a bigger representation on the international market.

2009 Founding of BOMAFA China

In order to offer our customer in the east a contact person on-site, BOMAFA China was found in 2009.

2012 Founding of BOMAFA India

Founding of BOMAFA India in order to set a foot intothe indian market.

2014 Integration Karl Schumacher

In 2014, Karl Schumacher GmbH,was integrated into the BOMAFA groupas a producer of coatings and thereby a specialist for the prevention of wear and corrosion.

2019 BOMAFA celebrates the 100th company anniversary

On June 19, 2019 BOMAFA Armaturen GmbH celebrated its founding day in the Stadtparkgastronomie with many international guests and its employees.

2022 Founding of BOMAFA Oil & Gas

Founding of BOMAFA Oil & Gas by Mr. Appelberg and Dr. Kazemi.The company is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of industrial components, particularly the special valves for the oil and gas industry.

2023 Founding of BOMAFA GCC L.L.C FZ
